Teen Arrested After Allegedly Carjacking Woman with Machete in Sydney
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with carjacking a woman at knifepoint in Sydney’s inner-west suburb of Glebe.
According to eyewitnesses, the teenager allegedly threatened the 25-year-old woman with a machete before stealing her car and speeding off.
Details of the Incident
The incident occurred around 11:30 pm on Friday night when the woman was driving home from work. She was stopped at a set of traffic lights when the teenager, who was reportedly acting suspiciously, approached her car.
Eyewitnesses claim that the teenager threatened the woman with the machete, forcing her to get out of the car. He then allegedly drove off in her vehicle, leaving the woman shaken but uninjured.
Arrest and Charges
Police were quickly alerted to the incident and launched a search for the stolen car. A short time later, officers spotted the vehicle and attempted to pull it over, but the teenager allegedly led them on a high-speed chase before finally crashing the car.
The 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with carjacking, reckless driving, and other offenses. He was taken to a police station for questioning and is expected to appear in court soon.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with police working to determine the teenager’s motive for the alleged carjacking. Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage to gather more information about the incident.
