Hey Australians! I'm wondering how Sky News is allowed to do segments such as "lefties losing it" when news has to be impartial. Doesn't this count as pandering to a certain audience/ taking a certain political leaning by calling them lefties? Just wondering how it's allowed or does no one care?
Maybe i'm overthinking it but there's no way anything like this would air in England without immediate cancellation and a public apology LOL

Allowing the government regulate what is and isn’t news sounds dystopian.
If the government starts doing that then it won’t (only) be Sky that is affected.
LOL if that’s the case…. please continue watching UK news. What a pointless dig at australia.
Good job.
How’s that working out for the Unhinged Kingdom?
Watch it less. It will outrage u less
Yet UK has titties in their newspapers?
SkyNews isn’t registered as a news organisation it’s an entertainment show. No different to home and away
skynews is basically the lucky country’s fox news. i pay no attention to it as its clearly just trying to get a rise out of left-leaning people.
Because they’ll label it as “opinion” rather than news. And because our conservative government pandered to their owner for the decade they were in power as Sky News Australia jumped off the deep end.
Because sky news is part of Murdochs empire, same with Fox News. So leans right.
In the U.K. there is GB news, which is the same. But probably isn’t as widespread
Sky news exists in the U.K. , but is not owned by murdoch, still owned by Sky, so is less political
Boomers watch those channels. Boomers like seeing lefties triggered. Sky finds triggered lefties. Sky make money
It’s always seemed odd to me what they can get away with saying. If a Chinese or Russian billionaire owned 70% of Australia’s media, and criticised the Australian Govt day-in, day-out, there’d rightfully be major uproar.
But an American billionaire can get away with it, with hardly any questions asked.
One thing I noticed in Sky News favour was they were the only news bulletin with a reporter actually at the Garma Festival, reporting daily. Never saw it covered on other news programs. I’d imagine it was rather extensively covered on NITV but other than a quick shot of Albo wearing his outback outfit I never saw it anywhere else.
It counts as an “opinion piece”, I beleive.
There is something strangely attractive about Rita Panahi though
