STAY TUNED FOR UPDATES ON THIS DEVELOPING STORY!

Hi haven’t posted here before, I’m wondering if anyone else is having the same experience?

A bit of back story, I was diagnosed with ADHD by CAMHS at 16 after trouble in school etc, I was then put on a waiting list for ADHD medication, i’m now 19 and still haven’t heard ANY news back regarding medication…

I called up again recently and all they said is that i’m on the waiting list and they will reach out when they’re available.

3 years? 3 fucking years and nothing at all?

When i was diagnosed I also scored 2.6/ 3 1.9/3 and 2.8/3 on the QB test I think it was and the psychologist at the time said these are very high scores and that I should hear back quicker than others because of this.

What other ways can I get medication because I need it more than ever now….

  1. It looks like this post might be about medication.

Please remember that whilst personal experiences and advice can be valuable, Reddit is no replacement for your GP or Psychiatrist and taking advice from anyone about your particular situation other than your trained healthcare professional is potentially unsafe.

  2. Best bet would be right to choose (if in England) and get diagnosed privately (i think they also pay for meds too) and go from there. Just go private if you can afford too.

Honestly that sucks you have been waiting so long, i bet since you aged out they thought it didn’t matter anymore, like it isn’t their problem probably. I was put on the wait list for CAMHS again when i was 15 and i never got an appointment and I’m also 19 now.
