If you are trying to justify the slaughter of children, I think you need to do some serious self reflection.

Taken factually he is incorrect as part of the definition of terrorism (in PoliSci) is that it is commited by non-state actors so if I had submitted a seminar paper stating this back at grad school my professor would not have been exactly thrilled. In terms of intent and theological perspective I think he is right about calling for peace. In the Sermon on the Mount we read:

It’s true. The IDF kills innocent Palestinians everyday and truly believes it’s okay. They believe that it is their right to kill innocent Palestinians, and believe that Palestinians are not people when they’re, people…. This war has shown me something. Right now an Israeli citizen can walk into a Palestinians home, call the IDF, and claim it is their home and land, and the IDF will kick them off, or beat/kill them if they don’t leave. I think Israel has gone to far! I know they are our allies but again they’ve gone to far 40k dead! I think their goal to exterminate Hamas is good but I think they could have limited the collateral damage! Idk if I would call them terrorists in the sense that Hamas is terrorist though.

I totally agree. I feel for all the innocent lives on BOTH sides. It’s crazy that Palestinians are getting so much hate. The reason for people hating them is “they’re all Hamas terrorists Meh”, but they don’t ever think about the innocents being killed.
I strongly do not think that that is true. About two days ago, he called it a “crisis” called for an “immediate release of the hostages”, “an immediate ceasefire on all fronts” and the establishment of a two-state solution. In that statement, as far as I remember, there was no mention of “terrorism” and I very much doubt he’s doing statements every two days. Whatever the matter, the war stops and any escalations, from turning into a full-blown regional crisis and larger war.

The proper context for the entire war is the century-old Israeli-Arab Conflict, which cannot be properly explained in a single Reddit comment (but which I am willing to discuss with anyone who wants to reply to this).
This specific offensive was provoked by October 7th of 2023, where a massive terrorist attack against Israel by Hamas killed, raped, and kidnapped over 1000 civillians.
Hamas is a military terrorist organization, and also the de facto government of the territory of Gaza, which Israel has been bombing to try to weaken Hamas’ capabilities as much as possible to prevent them from committing another Oct. 7th (they promised a thousand more of those until Israel is gone).
Except Hamas does not operate like a normal military and violates every international convention in hundreds of ways every second — they do not establish safe zones, nor humanitarian corridors; they steal international aid from civillians to power their terrorists; they camouflage in civillian clothes, having no uniform; they have their military bases in schools/hospitals/residences instead of military-only zones; they convince or force their civillians to remain around the bases as “human shields.”
All of this means that it is impossible to counter-attack Hamas without harming civillians as well, so this war has outraged many. Still, Israel has minimized civillian deaths to a very impressive degree: the total number of deaths after nearly a year of bombing one of the most densely populated areas in the world (with all of those Hamas dirty tactics) is ~40k, compared to something like 200k deaths in only a few hours in WW2 urban bombings.
Moreover, not only is the absolute number of deaths incredibly low for this type of warfare, but the ratio of civillian deaths is also significantly lower than the average reported by the UN: currently at 60-70% way below the UN average of 90%. And all of this is even more impressive considering that the numbers we have are reported by Hamas (and thus everything but favorable to Israel) and we know Hamas reports all unidentified deaths as “women and children” (even when many are probably adult men too), AND the fact that those “children” (anyone under 19 or 20 years old) are misclassified as civillians even though most Hamas terrorists are older teenagers and young men between 15-25.
All of these deaths are tragic and horrible, but the moral responsibility falls on Hamas’s conduct, rather than Israel’s. At least, going by the public information we have. If something comes out in the future showing that Israel intentionally or negligently targeted civillians, that part of the responsibility would also fall on them.

I think the focus on Gaza gives Israel cover for what they are doing in the West Bank.
There is no excuse for Israel to behave the way they have, and to continue to enable illegal settlements is detestable. Israel should completely pull out of the West Bank, no ifs ands or buts.
However that’s not going to happen while everyone is focused on Gaza
