CTA to Extend Ashland Avenue Bus Route about a Mile Farther North
[Chicago, IL] – In a move aimed at improving public transportation in the city, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has announced plans to extend the Ashland Avenue bus route about a mile farther north.
According to sources, the CTA will be adding new stops and increasing the frequency of buses on the route, which currently runs from the Loop to the 5500 block of South Ashland Avenue. The extended route will now run to the 5600 block of South Ashland Avenue, providing residents and commuters with better access to local businesses, schools, and employment opportunities.
The decision to extend the route comes after months of community outreach and feedback from residents, who have been advocating for improved public transportation options in the area. The CTA has been working closely with local stakeholders to identify areas of need and develop solutions that meet the needs of the community.
