With these falsified documents, they swindled numerous investors, mostly inexperienced newcomers, by promising outrageous yields from cryptocurrency investments.

One trader shared a harrowing experience:

"I invested nearly 0.02 bitcoin in uglobalwebs.com thinking I would make a decent return. Suddenly, the platform halted my funds and promised a lucrative refund within a week. Well, sadly I fell victim to this and it all came to a head today when I tried to withdraw some of my "profits" . None of my bitcoin transfers were completing so I messaged the "amazing" customer service through the app and got a very nasty note back about my account having been flagged for insider trading and demanding me to pay the exact amount of the profit that I made yesterday (around 7k) and stop trading for 30 days to restore my account.

It all started when I had been contacted by accident by a very nice looking Singaporean girl claiming she was looking for a different person. I (stupid) told her I wasn't the person she was looking for but struck up a conversation with her anyway. We chatted daily thru Telegram and she gradually introduced me to her "rich" lifestyle. She had money that I could only dream of.

Anyway long story short, it was a CLASSIC Pig Butchering scam to the 'T'. I wish I had know about it before hand but the good news is I only lost 1k in Bitcoin because I refused to deposit more until I could prove that I could take some profits back out. Anyway, the website is brand new (domain registered on 7-30-24) and LOOKS like the legit UpBit site but isn't. Again, I should have researched it further before even transferring the 1k in BTC. I found out later that UpBit doesn't even allow US citizens to trade. So not only am I pissed, I'm embarrassed and just feel stupid. Hopefully my experience will help someone else to avoid this total scam.

  1. Names don’t matter, they create new ones by the hour

    Two take aways:
    1) Don’t respond to random strangers
    2) Stop thinking someone has a secret to making money trading ANYTHING

You got off lightly, hopefully it immunized you from getting scammed for a lot more in the future

  2. If instead of a nice looking girl, it was a homeless, smelly bum, would you take their investment advice?

You need to learn to stop thinking with your little head.
