The incident occurred just a day after the cat, a self-proclaimed food connoisseur, returned home from a brief hospital stay. The cat, who shall remain nameless for the time being, had been enjoying a hearty appetite before its hospital visit. However, upon its return, its usual voracious eating habits have come to an abrupt halt.

My cat went to the hospital Wednesday morning around 4am as he was not feeling well. They found out that he has crystals/stones in his bladder and was given a urinary based diet to treat it. My cat gets stressed easily, and the vets even said that he looked quite stressed from staying at the hospital. Also, he was given 2 sedatives during his stay; one to do his ultrasound, and another for his urinalysis. So when he got home on Wednesday evening, he is obviously very groggy and tired, however he was able to eat a bit throughout the evening/night. On Thursday, he was a bit groggy still but started to move around more, and he started to eat a lot more and I was so happy and relieved. However, starting Friday morning at around 4am, it seems his appetite isn't as strong as it was. I think he did seem interested in eating at first, but as soon as he got a few bites of the food/sniffed it, he was no longer interested. I tried feeding him again 2 hours later and still the same. I'm just so worried cause everything was going so well. His general condition is not bad at all I'd say, he isn't irritated or showing signs of pain; he is using his litter box and when he's resting, he seems comfortable (sometimes though. When he rested once the decreased appetite started, he sometimes looked a bit uncomfortable, but nothing extreme). I called the vet and they said if he doesn't eat by this afternoon I should bring him in, but I know that bringing him in will cause him more stress. Because of that, I would like to receive a second opinion if possible. Could it be due to the sedation still wearing off? I believe he is slightly constipated as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you
Info about my cat:
• Domestic shorthair, 8 years old, male, neutered, weighs 7.5kg
• Short history: he was admitted to the hospital after a night where he presented very stressful symptoms. They found 5 relatively small stones in his bladder. He stabilized in the hospital; his urine sample presented good news; his blood test was good and showed no concerns; and has been able to pass urine successfully ever since he came home. He is a bit constipated due to the 2 sedations he received. He has been eating well until Friday early morning.
• Clinical signs: at home, his general condition appears good. No vomiting nor painful vocalization. Sometimes when he rests, he looks very tired, I'm supposing due to the sedation wearing off and the stressful stay at the hospital. When his decreased appetite started, he sometimes appears to be a little bit uncomfortable
• Length of time I've seen these changes: he was eating good, the last meal I gave him was on Thursday at 10pm. When I gave him his food on Friday at 4am, he wasn't interested.
