I recently heard the news of the shooting in Georgia (my condolences to the victims and their families) but that got my thinking. If a shooter wanted to kill as many as possible couldn’t they just set the school on fire and burn people. I’m asking this because I’m scared if this happened to my school it would burn. Every modern school I’ve been in probably wouldn’t burn very well, for one thing. They are mostly concrete steel and glass, with fire sprinklers and extinguishers everywhere
I don’t think that would be very effective. Most schools will have fairly robust fire procedures to contain and minimise the impact of a fire.
Windows and fire drills reduce the kill rate.
Schools have fire alarms, smoke alarms, sometimes sprinkler systems, fire hoses and do regular fire drills.
