"I Am DONE with all the ‘AI Content & Marketing Gurus’ Online!"

[Insert eye-catching image or video]

After years of watching the online marketing space get flooded with "AI Content & Marketing Gurus" promising overnight success and claiming to hold the secrets to creating content that converts, I’m finally saying ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

It’s time to expose the truth: most of these "gurus" are just charlatans preying on the ignorance of new entrepreneurs and small business owners who are desperate for a shortcut to success. Newsflash: there is no magic pill or one-size-fits-all solution to creating engaging content that resonates with your audience.

These self-proclaimed "AI experts" are simply repackaging tired, generic content creation strategies and slapping a "AI-generated" label on them to make them sound cutting-edge. Don’t fall for it! You deserve better.

Here are just a few of the reasons why I’m DONE with the AI Content & Marketing Gurus:

  • Lack of originality: AI-generated content is often bland, formulaic, and lacks the personal touch that sets truly effective content apart.
  • Over-reliance on buzzwords: AI marketers are quick to toss around buzzwords like "AI-powered" and "machine learning" to make their content sound more sophisticated, but the reality is that these tactics are often nothing more than marketing speak.
  • Unfulfilled promises: Many "AI Content & Marketing Gurus" promise the moon, but fail to deliver on their lofty claims, leaving you with nothing but empty promises and a lighter wallet.
  • Ignoring the human touch: At the end of the day, humans are still the best content creators. AI may be able to spit out words, but it can’t replicate the nuance, empathy, and creativity that only humans possess.

What’s the solution?

It’s time to stop chasing after get-rich-quick schemes and instead focus on creating content that truly resonates with your audience. That means:

  • Putting in the effort: Quality content takes time and effort. Don’t expect AI to do all the heavy lifting for you.
  • Getting personal: Authenticity is key to building trust with your audience. Don’t be afraid to share your story and connect with your readers on a human level.
  • Staying up-to-date: Stay informed about the latest content marketing trends and best practices, and adapt your strategy accordingly.

In 2024, everyone’s a marketing “guru,” and every “expert tip” feels like it’s been churned out by ChatGPT on repeat.

Every post, every blog, and every LinkedIn article claims to have the secret sauce for getting more leads, growing your email list, or running a successful PPC campaign.

How come we are not seeing real, actionable tips from marketers that did this for years. Almost as every single person just follows the same framework.

Hook – Throw some mediocre thing that worked for you on a single occasion as a tip – encourage a sale.

Here’s what you don’t hear: The marketers like me, who have spent years managing real campaigns—brands that didn’t take off, clients that didn’t see the ROI they expected, or ideas that just flat-out failed. I’ve run email campaigns, built social media strategies, managed PPC ads—you name it.

I’ve learned just as much from the failures as I have from the successes. Yet, no one’s talking about the actual lessons learned when things go wrong.

Instead, we get endless “tips and tricks” that are really just AI-generated fluff—recycled, generic advice that anyone can spit out in two minutes.

Where’s the joy of the creation?

Where’s the insight from marketers who’ve spent hours optimizing campaigns, learning the ins and outs of branding, or figuring out the tough parts of conversion tracking?

There’s so much survivor’s bias out there. You hear the success stories: “How I made $50K running Facebook ads in a weekend” or “How I grew my brand using just one email.”

But you don’t hear about the people who tried 15 different ad strategies before finding one that even broke even.

That’s what’s missing from today’s marketing landscape—real stories from real marketers.

The ones who tested multiple platforms, learned that not all social channels convert the same, or spent weeks optimizing landing pages only to realize it was the messaging that was wrong, not the design.

I’ve failed at plenty of things—whether it’s a rebranding effort that didn’t land, a social media campaign that never caught traction, or a content strategy that didn’t resonate.

And those are the stories I want to share—because that’s where the real value is.

I’m tired of seeing people pass off AI-generated content as genuine marketing insight.

I want to hear about the human side—the campaigns that didn’t convert, the copy that flopped, the ads that tanked.

The marketing lessons you can’t learn from running a prompt through GPT.

Honestly, I’ve been thinking of starting a newsletter where marketers share real tips—no fluff, no AI, just practical advice, Latest News, Marketing Technology use cases, Strategies from people who’ve done the work, failed a few times, and kept going.

It’s time to hear from the little guy, the one who’s tried, tested, and tweaked until things finally worked.

(I might even do it if this gets some traction)

  1. im so sick of the ‘guides’ and demand gen campaigns that i see on linkedin targeting marketers where its an ebook of pure ai garbage. 0 creativity or human input.

heres the ai words i see repeated over and over and over and over:
critical, robust, rapid, effective, navigate, effortless, seamless, crucial, dive, delve, furthermore, moreover, evolve, landscape, ‘not only’, explore, essential, ensure, enhance, rapid, revolutionize, cutting-edge, comprehensive, elevate, ‘more than just’, streamline

they all have a remix of these words and bring nothing unique or valuable to the table. the same selling points, the same generic copy. people are developing a bad taste for lazy ai produced content. If you’re going to use AI in marketing, at least spend the time to humanize the content and make it sound like an actual human spent effort creating it

  2. This is so spot-on, even for me who’s studied marketing more than she’s DONE marketing… honestly I’m going to print this post, make an altar for it, and cry at it with a few candles and incense sticks every few hours a day, every day

  3. Starting and writing a newsletter which will help and impact subscribers with your experience is the way to go. I’ve been on Substack for a couple of years, and I recommend it. But of course the wantrepreneurs are everywhere.

  4. Posts like this offer zero value. Maybe consider doing something constructive with your angst. The guru’s at least are attempting to offer something to the market. There’s a saying that when you point the finger at someone else 3 fingers point back at you… something to consider.

  5. Yes. LinkedIn has turned into 90% ai produced copy and pasted “content” from India. Very low value, low depth, generic information. As someone who is has been in this industry for a long time I can tell you that I just ignore it and seek out exactly what you suggested. I want to see real situations from other experts.

  6. Ah yeah… Honestly, it took me some time to understand that most of the professional content from marketing gurus for aspiring marketers is just another marketing product in another marketing campaign and we, the marketers, are just another target and one another type of customers here. And therefore the quality of this product may vary.

Like every other free sample, free ebooks, podcasts, YouTube channels, webinars are meant to give us just a foretaste and to know more you’re expected to make a purchase. And I’m generally ok with this, that’s how business works – buuut what annoys me it’s that in many cases of marketing experts they’ve made some clever thesis many years ago, but then they write next books or they give a lectures about the same thought again and again and everything around it is just an empty talk or author’s self-promotion. You get the book which is the wall of words and you’ll find only one, maybe two interesting tips within. At least it’s my impression. It’s such a waste of time.

Ok, ok, I’m sure that there still are many good sources of valuable marketing knowledge somewhere, but they’re not so easy to find. And I mean the situation of “the pre-AI era”. Now, with AI-generated content it’s even easier to produce some prolix yet low-effort stuff.

Ah, sorry for this rant. I guess, for exchanging the real-life marketing advises it would be better to make/join some professional networks or discussion groups or even this subreddit. To start the newsletter or podcast etc. it would cost you a time and probably a money. Be careful to not fall into the same trap as those internet marketing gurus 😉

Sorry for any language mistakes, I’m not English native.
