Autumn Events

• Applefest at Eckert's Farm (Belleville, Grafton & Millstadt)
  • September 7 – 29, 2024 (Saturdays & Sundays)
  • Wagon rides, live entertainment, great festival foods, children’s activities and much more make this an apple pickin’ good time for everyone! Whether riding a pony or feeding a goat, your young ‘uns will enjoy getting acquainted with common farm animals. Cider donuts, caramel apples, and more to tempt your taste buds.
• The Darkness Haunted House
  • September 13, 2024
  • Journeying into the depths of The Darkness, you never know when your next step will be your last.
  • Located in Soulard, the two-story haunted house was completely renovated this year. Featuring Hollywood set designs, alarming animated effects and formidable live actors, America’s scariest attraction is now longer and more terrifying.
  • The Darkness also encompasses a 3D haunted house dubbed Terror Visions, a five-minute serial killer escape room, a monster museum and a horror store.
• Fright Fest at Six Flags
  • September 13 – November 3, 2024
  • With thrills both on and off the rides, Fright Fest at Six Flags St. Louis is one of the spookiest fall festivals and events of the season.
  • During the day, family-friendly attractions abound, but in the evening, all the creatures that go bump in the night haunt the park. Expect rides in the dark, haunted houses and other scare zones.
• Oktoberfest at Grant's Farm
  • September 13 – 15, 2024
  • Oktoberfest returns to Grant’s Farm this September, celebrating the attraction’s German heritage. Included with free general admission, the event will feature cold beer served in commemorative steins, alongside traditional German food, live German music, enthusiastic German dancing and access to the farm’s animals.
• Oktoberfest at Six Flags
  • August 31 – September 22, 2024 (Select Days)
  • Enjoy craft and seasonal brews, complemented by their limited time menu of German-inspired     dishes and desserts. All enjoyed while listening to live music surrounded by  a festive setting of fall and Oktoberfest décor.

• American Idiot at The Marcelle
  • September 12 – October 5, 2024
  • Don’t wanna be an American idiot? New Line Theatre opens its 33rd season with the high-octane, thought-provoking and insanely entertaining rock fable American Idiot based on the powerhouse album by Green Day, which remains a scorching attack on the hypocrisy and moral evils of American politics and the increasingly submissive nature of the American public.
• Balloon Glowdeo at Brookdale Farms
  • September 13 – 14, 2024
  • Balloons, bulls and barrels converge on Brookdale Farms during Balloon Glowdeo. Witness an exhilarating rodeo, and before the balloons light up the night, visit with farm animals, bounce around inflatable playgrounds, grab a bite to eat and enjoy a live outdoor concert. After the magical balloon glow, attendees will also be treated to a beautiful firework display.

  • Every Wednesday
  • Local meetup group of chess players that meet at breweries on Wednesday nights. They rotate locations each week.

• Chuseok Korean Harvest Festival at Tower Grove Park
  • September 14, 2024
  • Held at Half Moon Circle in Tower Grove Park, the Chuseok Korean Harvest Festival centers on traditional Korean performing arts. Highlights of the program include a martial arts demonstration, K-pop dance competition and traditional foods.
  • Attendees can also participate in visual art demonstrations focused on the Korean alphabet, calligraphy and crafts; try on hanbok, a traditional clothing of the Korean people; and learn about the traditional Chuseok charye table setting.
• Family Night with Fredbird
  • Wednesdays
  • Join others at Cardinals Nation Restaurant & Bar for Family Night with Fredbird on select Wednesday evenings this off-season! Bring your family down for games, prizes, and meet Fredbird from 6:30-7:30pm.
• Friday the 13th Happy Hour at 31Art Gallery
  • September 13, 2024
  • Tempt fate and join others for Happy Hour on Friday the 13th! Whether you're feeling lucky or unlucky, you're welcome at 31art gallery. Grab a complimentary drink and check out our latest art exhibit.

• Greentree Festival at Kirkwood Park
  • September 13 – 15, 2024
  • Located in Kirkwood Park, the Greentree Festival is a time-honored tradition. The first festival was held in 1961 to replace drought-stricken trees in Kirkwood, and today, the family-friendly event features a parade, food, entertainment, arts and crafts and contests.
  • While you’re here, check out the folklife festival, where more than 40 artisans – from blacksmiths to frontierspeople and rope-makers to weavers – demonstrate their crafts and display their wares.

  • World Wide Technology Raceway gives travelers a million reasons to visit the Midwest.
  • From Sept. 9 to 14, the premier racing facility will host the 29th annual Mickey Thompson Million Dollar Drag Race. World Wide Technology Raceway will continue the race’s long-running tradition while elevating the racer experience.
• Mosaics Fine Art Festival’s 29th Annual Event
  • September 13 – 15, 2024
  • The three-day festival includes over 100 juried artists from more than 15 states exhibiting and selling their artwork. Media categories include clay, drawing, glass, leather, metal, pastel, oil/acrylic, photography, printmaking, sculpture, watercolor, and wood.
  • The Children’s Village area will feature hands-on art experiences for children to create their own make-and-take art masterpieces.
• Music at the Intersection Festival
  • September 14 – 15, 2024
  • Music and heritage meet at this festival in the Grand Center Arts District.
  • In 2024, headliners will include psychedelic soul band Black Pumas; 10-time Grammy-winning queen of funk Chaka Khan; rapper Big Boi of Outkast; New Orleans trombonist and trumpeter Trombone Shorty; five-time Grammy-winning jazz bassist Esperanza Spalding; funk group Lettuce; two-time Grammy-winning 24-year-old jazz singer Samara Joy; and St. Louis rapper Chingy.
• Open Mic Night at Schlafly Bottleworks (Maplewood)
  • Every Wednesday
  • Join others every Wednesday evening and showcase your talents with our Open Mic Night! Open sign up begins at 6:30PM with music starting at 7:00PM. They welcome original material, covers and spoken word! Grab a beer, then play and listen every Wednesday! There are no cover charges and no drink minimums to attend.
• Soulard Farmer's Market

  • Soulard Farmers Market is located at 730 Carroll Street in St. Louis, Missouri, a half mile north of the Anheuser-Busch Brewery. The market is open Wednesday through Saturday, year round. They feature locally grown and shipped in goods, including: produce, meats, cheeses, spices, gourmet kettle corn, flowers, baked goods, and general merchandise. There are also several different eateries that have many food options, which allows customers the convenience to grab a quick bite to eat and a drink while shopping.

• Sue: The T. Rex Experience at St. Louis Science Center
  • June 8 – September 15, 2024
  • The Saint Louis Science Center will welcome SUE: The T. rex Experience from June into September. SUE is the most complete, best-preserved Tyrannosaurus rex specimen ever discovered, and this special exhibition features the latest scientific discoveries about the species as a whole and this incredible fossil. Guests will get to explore the sights, sounds, and smells of SUE's world. Learn all about this fearsome fossil this summer!

  • Kick off your weekend at the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park! Each Thursday Night at the Museum will be the most fun, engaging, uplifting, thought-provoking, perspective-shaping night of your week. And there are drinks.
