A lament for what we lost

The Economist has been my go-to source of news and information for 15 years. I cancelled my subscription over the terrible political coverage this year across borders, as well as the notable decline in structure and rhetoric across articles.

It was not even a possibility to me a year ago that I would unsubscribe. In fact I used to read nearly everything they put out. Now it seems to be shockingly mediocre in writing quality and analysis. I told them I was unsubscribing about 2 months ago (and had to deal with their awful, anti-consumer attempts to convince you to change your mind before doing so), but my subscription remains for a couple of months. So every week or so I check, and it's all one-sided perspectives on the US and Israeli politics at the top of the page, followed by very little analysis of what's going on in financial markets. I no longer have a legitimate source for news and markets, anywhere.
