Canada to Resettle Over 65,000 Asylum Seekers Across Three Provinces in 2023

January 15, 2023 – In a stunning development, the Canadian government has announced plans to resettled over 65,000 asylum seekers across Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia in 2023. The news sent shockwaves across the nation, with many questioning the country’s ability to support such a large influx of refugees.

According to statistics released by the government, Alberta would receive nearly 28,000 asylum seekers, British Columbia would welcome more than 32,500, and Nova Scotia would see 4,952 refugees.

The relocation effort is part of an ongoing effort to address a global refugee crisis, as millions of people flee conflict, persecution, and instability around the world. While the news has sparked some controversy, many Canadians are demonstrating their support for the influx of new arrivals, noting the country’s long tradition of welcoming refugees and protecting human rights.

  1. Higgs was not wrong to be mad about this. Most of these people coming to Canada know Toronto, or Montreal, and sure as fuck don’t want to end up in Miramichi or Truro.

  2. Nova Scotia housing is fucking full. We have the lowest wages and rental units are basically at 0% vacancy! We’re getting sick of paying Ontario prices with NS wages and my entire town is already all brown

  3. We need to verify and vent these “asylum “seekers. I do believe it is a loophole many people are applying through.
It’s there for a reason, but I am quite sure it is abused most frequently

  4. Oh man, they’re gonna cause so many accidents here in the maritimes. Our snow plowing budgets are significantly less than the big provinces, and our population is almost 50% rural in NB still.
