US Coast Guard Rescues Haitian Migrants Stranded by Smugglers

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) has announced the rescue of a group of Haitian migrants who were stranded at sea by smugglers. The incident occurred approximately 50 miles off the coast of South Florida, USA.
Rescue Efforts
According to the USCG, the migrants were transported on a makeshift vessel with no life jackets or navigational equipment. The USCG received a distress call from a Good Samaritan vessel, which reported sighting the stranded migrants. Coast Guard crews from the Seventh District responded to the call and launched a rescue mission.
Rescued Migrants
A total of 34 Haitian migrants were rescued from the vessel, including 20 women and 14 children. The migrants were found to be in good condition, with some reporting mild dehydration and exhaustion.
Smugglers Fled the Scene
The smugglers responsible for abandoning the migrants at sea are still at large. The USCG is working to identify and apprehend the suspects, who are believed to have fled the scene in a separate vessel.

"We are proud to have saved the lives of these vulnerable individuals, and we will continue to work tirelessly to disrupt the illegal smuggling operations that threaten the safety of our seas and the lives of those who seek a better future."
