The Full Letter:
Here is the full text of the letter:
Dear Dilip,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment and concern about the direction in which you have taken the Hockey India League (HIL). As you are aware, I have always been a strong supporter of the HIL and its vision to promote and develop hockey in India.
However, over the past few months, I have been made aware of several instances of financial irregularities and misuse of funds. I have also been informed that you have been using your position to further your own interests and those of your friends and family.
I am shocked and disappointed that you have chosen to ignore the values and principles of the HIL and instead have prioritized your own personal gain. This is not only unethical, but it is also a betrayal of the trust that the players, coaches, and fans have placed in you.
I demand that you take immediate action to rectify the situation and restore the integrity of the HIL. I also expect you to cooperate fully with any investigation that may be conducted into these allegations.
Sincerely,
Dr. Narinder Dhruv Batra
Reactions:
Reacting to the letter, Tirkey has denied all allegations and called the letter "baseless and malicious". "I am shocked and disappointed by the letter," he said. "I have always acted with integrity and honesty, and I will not be intimidated by these baseless allegations."
The HIL has also issued a statement denying any wrongdoing and calling the allegations "baseless and malicious". "We take these allegations very seriously, but we are confident that they are unfounded," said a spokesperson for the HIL.

Thought I'd post Dr Narinder Batra letter here for some to read
Dear Dilip Tirkey Jee
President Hockey India
*I have read the attached news article in which you have extended the term of Coach of men’s team till 2028 LA Olympics.
*Mens coach did a decent job in Paris Olympics and his extension is well deserved. I was personally happy to see that he was once again able to put back the defence structure in place after Tokyo Olympics and after retirement by Rupinderpal Pal and Surender Kumar from defence after Tokyo.
*The women’s team which finished 4th in Tokyo failed to qualify for Paris Olympics. This is something which will be a BLACK MARK ON YOUR PRESIDENCY.
*To get women team back on track, my suggestion would be, to immediately try and see if you can hire the coach of Chinese women’s hockey team who was with them in Paris Olympics
*This coach took Chinese women hockey team from nowhere into the finals in Paris Olympics, and in the final China lost to Netherlands in shootout. She is an Australian and the best in coaching right now for women.
*Till now in FIH Pro league Indian women hockey team is ranked 8th in 9 participating teams and if India finish 9th they will be out of Pro League and hence lose playing competitive matches.
*The women’s team needs to be given their due and with the current average resources provided to Indian women’s hockey team, the performance/results also will be average.
*I have utmost respect for retiring athletes, but they should not be made incharge coaches immediately on retirement, they should start with head coaches and grow up the ladder.
*Indian junior men and women hockey teams will be backbone for LA and Brisbane Olympics in 2028 and 2032, please give them the best coaching and strength & conditioning training, there should be no compromise in it.
*Why has the development team or India A team been disbanded. Where will the athletes go who are no longer juniors and also are not it top 30 or 33 of the senior Indian teams in men and women. Start it immediately and here you can have your best Indian coaches.
*In Indian Men and Women Senior and Junior Hockey teams, please engage only good foreign coaches, because I was and still am convinced that there in NO COACH IN INDIA WHO WOULD BE IN TOP 50 COACHES IN THE WORLD FOR MEN AND WOMEN.
*India has won back to back medals because most of the players continued from TOKYO, you will not have the same privilege in LA.
*Hockey was brought back on track in India, please don’t ruin it by taking wrong decisions in Coaching and training along with wrestler.
*Please do not again start the same mistakes which happened from 1980s till 2009. Please check the wrestler who has no idea of hockey and do not allow him to ruin hockey, once again please do not make the same mistakes of your era
*Finally congratulations to you and the men’s hockey team for their medal winning performance in 2024 Paris Olympics.
Best Wishes
Narinder Dhruv Batra
