32 M Started noom mid July 2024 SW 91 KG.

I did well with noom for the first 6-7 weeks. I got down to 85.8 KG at the lowest @ around 10th September. However, my wife had registered us for a long guided walk (over 15 miles) on 15th September. So for the week or so before, I had been eating at maintenance calories to make sure we had the endurance for the walk.

The good news: WE DID THE FULL WALK! Fully expected us to quit halfway but we managed the whole length. Legs were shattered at the end (and are still a bit weak and sore) but I am very proud of both of us.

The bad news: for the few days before the walk, and yesterday, I felt my control over portions slipping. And today I weighed in at 87 KG, over 1 kg more than the lowest. So this is my re-commitment post. The major win of the walk would be meaningless if I lost the plot in the long run.

I have a tricky few weeks coming up ahead. This weekend we are travelling to Liverpool and Manchester for a gig, and the next weekend we are leaving for a week long holiday to Czechia for my wife’s birthday. I am not sure in how much control I will be over this time, so I am breaking down my goals for the next few weeks here.

1.      To keep up the protein intake – @ ~ 100 gms a day to recover from the walk and keep up the legs for inevitable walking on these trips.

2.      To keep near the low end of the calorie budget every day that I am not travelling and so have full control over what I eat.

3.      To drink 3 Litres of water a day every day, even when travelling.

4.      On the Liverpool/Manchester trip – to not exceed the calorie budget and not drink more than 1 pint over the whole weekend.

5.      On the Czechia trip – to be avoid alcohol at night (except for 1 pint on my wife’s birthday).

I think these goals will give me a reasonable scope to enjoy my holiday and are also things that are completely in my control. What does everyone think? Are they reasonable? Any suggestions and adjustments are welcome.
