While accepting the pay offer, Dr. Chaand Nagpaul, Chairman of the BMA council, said that the group remains "deeply frustrated" over the long negotiating process, which has included two formal strikes. However, Nagpaul recognized the offer as a step forward in addressing the income disparities between junior doctors in England and their counterparts elsewhere in the United Kingdom.

"I’m proud that we have achieved this significant pay uplift for our junior doctors. This agreement recognizes the sacrifices and dedication of our frontline medical professionals," said Education Secretary Nadhim Zahawi, whose department was the driving force behind the government’s proposals.
