You do realize that anything this (completely unhinged) article mentioned could be achieved using 4g or even 3g. the g’s just represent the speed you can transfer data, and it doesn’t take that much data to send things like a phone’s geolocation or a smart watch’s heart rate monitor data.
You can be concerned about the abundance of “smart” technology, I know I don’t buy “smart” appliances unless the smart features are ones I actually want to use regularly, but that has nothing to do with 5g, which once again, is just a different method of data encoding that allows for faster data transfer and processing speeds.
