Hello everyone, while we wait for news on Laneway etc. can I ask for some help?
Firstly, I’m aware I have next to nothing to go on so I’m not expecting success here.
Secondly, I’ve tried Chat GPT to no success. I’m also banned from TipOfMyTongue subreddit so can’t try there.
Third, I’m trying to bring one iPod back to life and looking to find another to keep looking.

Double J have been playing a lot of Winterbourne recently, and it’s been reminding me of an album or EP that I was listening to around 2012-2013.
Partially the sound, but I feel like the word “bourne” was in the song, the album title or the band.
In terms of “sounds like”, it was in a similar genre to Georgia Fair, Cloud Control, Rainy Day Women etc.
Album/EP cover was brown (like a cacao or mocha brown, woody) and maybe had a compass or some sort of nautical equipment on the cover.
Would have got a few plays on Triple J, but would have come up from Unearthed (I’d imagine). Definitely released between 2011-2014.
Final vague possibility is that there was a song that referenced “the sea”.

List of ranking of details ranked from most sure to possibly immaterial:
-
Released between 2011-2014 (likely 12-13) (DEFINITELY)
-
Aus/NZ sad boy indie folk (DEFINITELY)
-
Album cover was woody brown (DEFINITELY)
-
Band never really took off (LIKELY)
-
There was either a compass or some sort of nautical equipment on the album cover (LIKELY)
-
They have “Bourne” in the name of the record, the band or a song on the record (MAYBE IMMATERIAL)
-
There was a reference to “sea” or something nautical in one of the main songs (MAYBE IMMATERIAL)

Unfortunately, I can’t help you, but I just wanted to say it’s fantastic that Double J has been playing a lot of Winterbourne lately! Those boys are extremely talented and I fiercely believe more should listen.
