RALEIGH, North Carolina – The eastern coast of North Carolina is reeling from a devastating storm that brought heavy rainfall, strong winds, and catastrophic flooding to the region.

Emergency services are on the scene, working tirelessly to rescue those stranded and provide aid to those affected by the disaster. According to officials, at least 20 people have been rescued from the floodwaters so far, with many more expected to be evacuated in the coming hours and days.
"This is an incredibly difficult situation, but we’re doing everything in our power to help those affected," said Wright. "We urge everyone in the affected areas to please stay safe and follow the instructions of local authorities."
