Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis suffered what the team called a “rare injury” to his left leg and is considered day-to-day for Boston’s upcoming games in the NBA Finals.
The Celtics announced Tuesday that Porzingis has a torn medial retinaculum allowing dislocation of the posterior tibialis tendon in his left leg.
Porzingis, who missed 10 consecutive games earlier this postseason because of a right calf strain, suffered this latest injury in the third quarter of Boston’s Game 2 victory Sunday against the Dallas Mavericks.
Porzingis said after Sunday’s game that he expected to be on the court for Game 3 in Dallas on Wednesday.
